Products and Uses

LAB (Linear Alkyl Benzene) is the main compound in the production of detergents and cleaning products. It is produced through the alkylation of Benzene and Normal Paraffin, which can be extracted from Kerosene. Most of the LAB produced will be used in the production of LAS (Linear Alkylbenzene Sulfonate), which can then be used to make detergents and cleaning products. Eighty percent of LAS produced will be used to manufacture detergents for household use. The rest will be used to manufacture industrial and commercial cleaning products. LAS is one type of surfactant which can reduce water surface tension when dissolved in water. Surfactant works by producing bubbles, which can lift stains from various surfaces and disperse them in water.
