Thaioil’s SPP Power Plant-1st project starts commercial operation.

     Thai Oil Public Company Limited, led by Mr.Mitri Reodacha, Senior Executive Vice President – Refinery and Petrochemical (4th left) has recently presided over a ceremony on the commercial operation of SPP- 1st Project operated by the TOP SPP Co., Ltd., Thaioil’s affiliate. Witnesses to the ceremony are Thaioil Group’s executives and management. The ceremony was held at TOP SPP CO., LTD , Sriracha district, Chonburi province.
This SPP- 1st Project generates 124 megawatts of electricity , 353 tons per hour of steam, 90 megawatts of electricity generation will be sold to Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT). The rest of electricity and the total of steam will be supplied to Thaioil Group. The commercial operation date (COD) was on 1 April 2016.

     Thaioil was selected as one of the Small Power Producer (SPP) Cogeneration for two projects in accordance with the resolution of the National Energy Policy Council in 2011. Two projects commands 239 megawatts of electricity generation, 498 tons per hour of steam, 180 megawatts of electricity generation will be sold to EGAT. The rest electricity of 59 megawatts will be used in Thaioil Group. The SPP-2nd Project will generate 115 megawatts of electricity, 145 tons per hour of steam. It is expected that the commercial operation will be by June 2016.
