Contribution Priority

In 2020, most of our contributions (93%) go towards advancing environmentally and socially responsible oil spill management and enhancing competitiveness through operational excellence.

Thaioil supports these two issues through our contributions to the Oil Industry Environmental Safety Group Association (IESG), Oil Spill Response Limited (OSRL), the Petroleum Institute of Thailand (PTIT), and the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI).

Top Three Organizations

The top three organizations that received the most funding from Thaioil in 2020 are primarily those that support our priority issues, as detailed above. They include:

  1. 1. Oil Industry Environmental Safety Group Association (IESG): The IESG is a non-profit organization established by the oil industry to advance safety and environmental excellence in Thailand. Thaioil is active in IESG as a member of all activities i.e. marine safety, marine oil spill response, and inland transport safety. Through our membership, we regularly share safety practices with our peers and leading industry experts, and participate in annual oil spill response exercises.
  2. 2. Oil Spill Response Limited (OSRL): The OSRL is the well-known international industry-funded cooperative dedicated to responding to oil spills globally by providing preparedness, response, and intervention services delivered by highly experienced and qualified global team of experts. The OSRL team can support Thaioil in case of marine oil spill response.
  3. 3. The International Oil Pollution Compensation Fund (IOPC Funds): The IOPC Funds are two intergovernmental organizations, which provide compensation for oil pollution damage resulting from spills of persistent oil from tankers. This ensure risk mitigation for Thaioil in case of marine oil spill incident.
